25 <br /> FebruarY 2,,2'1 <br /> The regular meetir,of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 8:40 a.m.,February 2,1977 in the Conference Room of the Everett City <br /> Hall, Prmsident Ebert presiding and all councilmen in attendance except <br /> Councilman Lenges who arrived a,8:50 a.m. <br /> CHIEF ADWIN/STRATIVE AIDE POSITION <br /> Mayor Anderson stated that he felt there should be available an appraisal <br /> of abilities for this job. His view was to advertise and gather in the <br /> interested parties. He has received a total of sixty applicants,twenty <br /> who have called him prior to advertising and forty after advertising. <br /> He has spent about$500 for the advertising in the various pprs. He <br /> will screen the applicants and then ask council to evaluate the decision. <br /> He also stated that Doug Seavy,Police Chief,is appointed on an acting <br /> basis for six months as Acting Chief Administrative Aide. <br /> Councilman duckett asked when the need for the administrative assistant <br /> would take effect. His feeling was that as long as the Mayor and five <br /> council offices were coming up for election,there could be a complexion <br /> change of conncil conclusion. He thought the selection,,ould be made <br /> after January 1,1978. <br /> President Ebert suggested the council have another discussion on this <br /> in six months. <br /> DOWNTOWN PARKING <br /> • <br /> 7.i!t:r11,7fr:::r=s1ri=71's:TdgNL„ <br /> !TTg,d.LtglIrloom=7:..parking meters on a six-nhnth trial basis and <br /> 2. He will contact Dick Thompson,City Attorney,about a date that 1,1 <br /> would be mutually agreeable to both sides. <br /> , The meeting then adjourned to an executive session. <br />
