87 <br /> March 15,1978 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order by Presi- <br /> dent Pro Tem Bob Overstreet at 9:15 a.m.,march 15,1978 in the Hearing Room <br /> of the County Courthouse with all councilmen in attendance except Councilman <br /> Gipson who arrived at 9:30. <br /> ARTS COMM/SSION REPORT(CH783-85) <br /> Arden Flom,past president of the Arts Commission presented two films showing <br /> art in the City of Everett. He then reviewed again the summary Of the com- <br /> T="0%Tfitt:e'="ZZIraTit7Ilea 1171'1'r:Tprole:TITtt!Ma:—. <br /> perform a cultural facilities needs survey inrthe greater Everettnarea.t <br /> ,117,11.1-enaral 1..,Trfel..t there was no need.for a consultant when the commission <br /> d 1r ady. Mr.Flom replied he felt the art commission members <br /> were quite prejudiced and that a professional consultant coming in would be <br /> unbiased. <br /> Mr.Flom asked If the city would look into the possibility of purchasing the <br /> Everett Theater again. He said a firm from Oregon had purchased it and he <br /> understood it was available. <br /> Moved by Councilman Baker,seconded by Councilman Pope to encourage the ex- <br /> ploration of the possibility of the sale of the Everett Theater at this time <br /> and continue communication with the owners so tlmt no chance of missing a <br /> purchase of the theater if it becomes available after discussion on past ac- <br /> tion next week. <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes except Councilmen Gipson who <br /> abstained. <br /> Motion Carried <br /> The president then called a ten minutes recess. <br /> T"f="rTI:'""st':eE"r=d2tY"unciLIMTIT':::s'foLTl'ahat <br /> Pres P m Over tr t pr g.
