Councilman Langus asked about additional cost to the city by going outside the city limits with the system and Mr.Beardsall Said the costs for schedu- lihg,thool buses•outside the city would be reimbursed to the city by the school district. There would be no costs to the City of Everett transit system. • Councilman Baker said if the city did consider consolidating it would not . be as a financial savings but as a service to the citizens and Mr.Beardsall replied this was correct. They would have to use the basis of level of ' service provided as their reason for consolidating as there does not seem to be a cost savings argument. .• . Councilman Aldcroft suggested the council study the report in depth as pre- sented by the consultant and he felt they would come to the same conclusion he had arrived at,that in the future it could bring a savings to the tax- payers of the city. -• On motion the meeting then recessed.
