• <br />.• <br /> 282 <br /> July 19,1978 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council-reconvened at 10:GO am • <br /> in the 116aring Room of the County Cour-thOUSe:PresidenWGiPson Presiding. <br /> Upon roll call it was found that all councilmen were in attendanice. • <br />• ,T,INtZge°:.=.77.nirga.r1n.g;-r=s'Er,TanZ:a=the <br /> citizens formerly receiving an exemption under the transit tax protest <br /> would have to begin paying the tax. He did not stake that they would <br /> have to pay back for the years previously exempted. Also to correct the <br /> i motion which stated that President Gipson had voted no inasmuch as he <br /> was not in attendance at the meeting. <br /> • <br /> • <br /> GLENHAVEN DEMOLITION <br />• <br /> moved by Councilman Pope,seconded by Councilman Michelson to instruct the <br /> • <br /> administration to take action immediately for the removal of a hazardous <br /> foundation at 47th and Glenhaven. <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes. <br /> Motion Carried <br /> POL/CE RESERVE <br /> Councilman Pope said that all members of the Police Department have bullet <br /> proof vests which they are required to wear o::dutY. He Said the P0,ice <br /> Reserve,approximately 33 officers,h=ve no bullet proof vests and he asked <br /> 8 the council for funds to purchase these. • <br /> Moved by Councilman Aldcroft,seconded by Councilman Pope to authorize not <br /> L•• • to exceed$3,05.0 from Council Contingency Fund for the purcbase of 33 vests <br /> 1 • for the Police Reserves. <br /> • <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes. <br /> Motion Carried <br /> STREET CLOSIIRE <br />•• John Lake of the Downtown Everett Association asked that Colby from Wall <br /> to Everett Avenue be closed on Saturday,July 22nd from 7:00 am to 600 pm <br /> for the purpose of a sidewalk sale. <br /> Move%byeCouncilmam,Aldcroft,seconded by.CounciLnan Pope to,congur in <br /> d Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes excent CounCilman GiPson <br /> who voted no. <br /> Motion Carried <br /> HEARING(CH786-242) <br />• <br /> • <br />•. =e0 <br /> T12:nla2:22E1I07Inrat2h121:127 t=for 2'emic: PC,12 <br />• <br />
