214 <br /> May 30,1979 <br /> Moved by councilman Gipson,seconded by Councilman Langus,to concur in <br /> the mayor's appointment of Charles Lawrence to fill the unexpired term <br /> of John Lacher,who had resigned from the Everett Park Board. Term will <br /> expire January 1,1905. <br /> Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes,except Councilman Michelson <br /> '[ '1 who was excused. <br /> Motion Carried <br /> FIRCPEST SHIVER DISTRICT AGREEMENT STATUS REPORT <br /> l! <br /> Dick Thompson,Administrative Assistant,briefly explained that the staff <br />!!'..1/7 / had been working on the Fircrest Sewer Agreement. They had nothing to <br /> report at this time.but were hoping to come back soon to the Council <br /> with a solution. <br /> re 01 I men Rice,attorney for Fircrest Sewer District,felt the City and the <br /> District should sit do.and discuss the whole situation. He said there <br /> is a small developer with 19 lots ready to install and hook up to sewers <br /> in the Fircrest Sewer District area,and requested that the City consider <br /> amendment to the agreement for this proposal. <br /> ! <br /> 4 <br /> SENIOR CITIZEN VAN <br /> 77 <br /> 0‘0J;l41 Jack Requa,Transit Director,revanded the Council that in May they had <br /> awarded bids for vehicles,among them being two additional vans for the <br /> Senior Center from Brien Ford. The Company haa been unable to find any <br /> Ford vans,and the City has been unable to find anyone to modify the <br />!4 a 10. Ford.vans for disabled and handicapped people. He said the Dodge van <br /> seems to be the only van large enough to handle wheelchair lifts,etc., <br /> and there are tom firms in the country.one in New York and one in Los <br /> Angeles,that can provide this type of vehicle. They have talked with <br /> Brien Ford,and they understand the problem and are willing to forego <br /> '4 the bids. He said the firm in California could provide the two vans <br /> within 60 to 90 days,whereas the New York firm said It would take at <br /> least 200 days to deliver. He asked for authorisation from the Council <br /> to cancel the bid wi.Brien's and order the vans from the Los Angeles <br /> ,1 <br /> firm. <br /> Moved by Councilman Baker,seconded by Councilman Gipson,to authorise <br /> 1:. the administration to proceed wi.canceling the bid for the two vans <br /> with Brien Ford and purchase two vans from the National Coach Corporation, <br /> of Los Angeles. <br /> Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes,except Councilman Michelson <br /> who was excumed. <br /> ,P 1 <br /> Motion Carried <br /> 3 I!
