Motion Carried
• WATERFRONT FACILITY AT SILVER LAKE-(CB 795-235)
I 1.1 •
x .
j I •I )
!'. !
' Dick Thompson said that on May 16th the Council accepted the bid of
M.D.Moore Company,/nc.to build the waterfront facility at Silver
Lake beach. The bid included the basic bid, plus alternate#1,sub-
stitute dayblock, alternate 43,add roof between the two buildings,
end alternate 14,add the remodel of existing toilets.
Since the Council took this action, the State IAC has reversed its
initial stand and now say they will approve funding of the basic bid
and alternate 119 only, and if the City wishes to proceed with alter-
nates 11 and 113,they would do so with the understanding that LAC will
not approve funding of these two alternatives until the entire Silver
Lake Improvement is compleXe. At that time,/AC would review the
financial status of the project to see if there is enough money to do
, n i all the work shown on the project application, plus alternatives 41 II '.' and 43. That means the City must provide the necessary$13,904.37 to
build these two alternatives if they are done.
1 Mr.Thompson said the Coencil must take two ctions; the first is to
decide whether it wants to take the risk and to proceed with the con-
! struction of alternates#1 and#3. If the Council decides to proceed,
,I
'1 then it must identify the$13.404.37 to construct the alternates 111 and
43. If the Council decides not to proceed, then it must act on a
1 Change Order, which anwnds the contract to delete the two alternates:
for a new contract covering the basic bid plus alternate 44 for an
amount of$105,338.87.
. I
Councilman Gipson asked how important these alt, xnates were and when
would the money be needed if IAC did not approve tb,expenditures.
Mr.Thompson replied that the clajidlock vcas quite important to them, but
tbat they could get along without the roof until some time later. The
IAC pay or.reimbursement only,so nothing would be given to the City
until after the actual expenditure had been made by the City, and the
li , IAC billed.
. ,
1
. .
