He •• <br /> said as stated at the public hearing and as mutually agreed upon,the • <br /> petitioner,Snohomrsh County P.U.D.,would deed to the City in exchange • <br /> for the proposed vacatdd streets,rights-of-way equal to or greater in <br /> are&than the proposed vacations. He said they have had several meetings •. <br /> with the P.u.D.regarding the exchange of properties and the City is • - <br /> asking for a 100 foot right-of-way on proposed 16th Avenue West in changeex- <br /> hnfor the vacated property. The P.U.D.has also agreed they will <br /> e 5 Years the PrOPerty at the north end of their imploveMenb, <br /> wich ih the westerly extension of 75th-Street and if it were improVed , <br /> by L.I.D.,the L.I.D.would compensate the P.U.D.for that property at <br /> • <br /> a fair value price. <br /> • <br /> Councilman Overstreet asked if the 100 foot right-of-way was actually <br /> needed the whole length of 16th Avenue West and Hugh Warren replied <br /> in many areas along this proposed street there were gullies and slopes <br /> and nlore than a 60 foot right-of-way would be needed. Mr.ThomPsec <br /> then said the City felt it was better to take a straight 100 foot right- • .1 <br /> of-way the whole length of the street so that the City would have full • <br /> ownership. <br /> Councilman Overstreet asked Mr.Hansen of the P.U.D.if the street im- • <br /> provements on the west end of 80th S.W.were not of considerable value <br /> to the P.C.,.and Nah HanSen rsPlied they were of no value at all,in <br /> fact the easterlyjlalf of that 80th Street S.W.between 18th Avenue and • <br /> 16th Avenue need not be vacated as far as the P.U.D.were concerned. <br /> • <br /> Mr.Hansen also noted that the District is willing to participate in an • • <br /> L.I.D.for improvements in this area and that they are also willing to <br /> make available the property south of 75th Street extension to the City <br /> for first refusal to purchase. <br /> • <br /> President Aldcroft asked if the P.U.D.would be willing to an equal ex- • <br /> change of ProPerty,and b..Hansen replied yes,except for the 75th Street • <br /> extension,which they expected to receive credit on the L.I.D.or to be <br /> Paid fair value price. <br /> President Aldcroft recommended that Section 3 of the Ordinance be <br /> changed to read, "That this ordinance shall not become effective until • <br /> the petitioner,Snohomish County P.U.D.No.1,shall deed to the City <br /> of Everett a right-of-way for street and utility purposes to be known as <br /> 16th Avenue West of a width of 100 feet determined by the City of Everett.9: <br /> deleting the balance of that paragraph. <br /> • <br />
