. . . • ,
493
October 24,1979
Moved by Councilman Gipson, seconded by Councilman Langus,to recommend
Christoper Furrier as a member of the Growth Advisory Board and give
this recommendation to the Mayor for his approval.
Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes, except President Aldcroft,
who was abgent.
Motion Carried
FIRCEEST SEWER DISTR/CT MEETING
conaCilman Michelson report that he and Councilman Overstreet had at-
tended the Fircrest Sewer District meeting on October 22,1939 and found
it in and enjoyable.
councilman michelson also reported that he had attended a meeting for
Reservoir 66,and said another meeting is scheduled for October 26,1939
and that progress is.being made. •
EXECUTIVE SESSION
Brad Cattle,City Attorney, requested an executive session following the
meeting to discuss the settlement of a lawsuit that is pending now.
BOUNDARY REVIEW MEETING •
•
Dick Thompson reported that he had attended a meeting of the Boundary ••
Review Board on October 23rd and Aaid it was very productive. He said
the-Fircrest sewer District has requested an annexation extension of
their boundaries of an area that is on Ahe scluth and east sides of
Silver Lake, encompassing approximately 170 acres and with about 450
residents in this area. He said that when the original submittal was
made the City asked that a pub/.hhaaering be set and last night opposed
theLganexation as Everett does not ve the present capacity to serve
those people that would require additional development. They felt there
needed to be a definition of the service boundaries of the City and of
reproFirrest prior to annexing people in tO FirCreSt,which would compound
blems. He also.pointed out to them our annexation policy issue
which says we expect our logical service boundary to extend between
128th and 164th,depending On tbe ePProPrkate extern. our.ewers.
20111 AVENUE W.
Dick Thompson reported that nen Ave.W.is being extended by Fluke due
to their developent and constrodtion. He said Fluke has requested an
• address designation on that street, and Mr.Thompson said that the street
makes a bend and is no longer a grid street and should be renamed. He •
thought.perhaps a numbered street umuld be appropriate, and Hugh Warren, •
of the Public Works Department, eaid it was not practical to use a num-
bered street even though it would become a north-south street. He
recommened using names such as Powder Mill or Edgewater, and if Council
had any ideas for names to let the Public Works Department know.
