611 December 26,1979 • BAKER AMBULANCE AGREEMENT-(CB 7912-557) :einoaWatson,Fire Chief,reported that this agreement is the result of ever 1 meetings with Baker Ambulance Co.and an annual contract negotiation. He proposes acceptance of this 1980 contract which will cost about $20,700 and is a increase over last year's contract. He tated tht discussionare under way with Mayor Moore to discuss these ossibility of expanding the City's medical aid system. He said • the BRAC Committee is exploring this and it was important to consider. /n 1980 f.ther data will be compiled that if the City of Everett or Everett Fire Department were in the transportation business what effect would it have on the City of Everett's service. Estimates are that • another a.car might be needed. All concepts are being considered ; and they will be coming back to Council with that data at a later date. k ilman Langs concerned about the fees that are being charged amsuestioned thews ossibility of a rate fee schedule. President Ald.oft asked Brad Cattle,City Attorney,if Council has the right to set charges under the private enterprise system in Everett, and Mr.Cattle said under the existing ordinances on record we did not have the right but it could be put into a contract if they were willEng to contractHe said possibly a franchise was more in order.
