529 <br /> December 3,1980 <br /> WHEREAS,.the City Council has recognized the need to improve public <br /> facilities in the Port Gardner Neighborhood;and <br /> WHEREAS,on July 23,1980,the City Council authorized$50,000 of <br /> 1980 Block Grant funds to be used for engineering and design of the 1981 <br /> improvement projects to be constructed in Lowell,Port Gardner,Northeast, <br /> Riverside,and <br /> WHEREAS,numerous neighborhood meetings have been held to discuss <br /> Project proposals;and <br /> WEEREAS,on October 20,1980,residents of the Port Gardner neighbor- <br /> hood held a neighborhood-wide meeting at which residents voted on proposed <br /> projects; <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Council of the City of <br /> Everett that; <br /> 1. The following projects be implemented or constructed with the <br /> $100,000 available through the 1981 Community Development B10ck <br /> Grant Program as recommended by 0001 1300080 residents. (The <br /> project which received the greatest number of votes is listed <br /> as 4A,the project which received the next greatest number of <br /> votes is listed as 48,etc.) <br /> A. $1,000 to Council for Greater Everett for neighborhood <br /> fair share assistance for support services to Port <br /> Gardnbr neighborhood. <br /> H. Terrace Drive(43rd Street to 44th Street),concrete <br /> curb and gutter on both sides,install storm drainage <br /> system,landscaping behind curb,aePheit <br /> (estimated project cost:$42,500). <br /> C. 4300 331891(alley west of Rucker Avenue to Grand <br /> 10 >000131001 <br /> T=1=2.T;ZI0=i:2.0=:L072=Ited <br /> project cost;$44,160). <br /> D. $500 to Jackson Elementary School PTA towards estimated <br /> $2,400 playground equipment to be purchased IV ETA. <br /> E. Terrace Drive(42nd Street to 4101Street),concrete <br /> •curb and gutter on west side,install storm drainage <br /> system,asphalt resurfacing(eetimate61 project <br /> cost;$34,150). <br /> F. 35th Streek at Hoyt intersection,install flashing <br /> signal light for traffic control and pedestrian safety <br /> (estimated 0003101cost:$8,140). <br /> 2.
