.o <br /> 358 <br />., <br /> July 20,1981 <br /> A RESOLUTION relating to the disposal of real <br />• <br /> property surplus to the City's needs and providing <br /> policies and procedures for declaring such <br /> property oomed by the City surplus and establish- <br /> ing a disposition procedure therefore. <br /> WHEREAS,the City of Everett has identified a need to develop consistent <br /> policies and standard procedures to make and carry out City decisions re- <br />• carding retention or disposal of real property deemed surPlus by any depart- <br />. <br /> mento and <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Council of the City of <br /> Everett: <br /> Section 1: wy <br /> Declaration of Policy with Respect tO DisPositi.of .tr- <br /> O <br />„ ned Proper <br /> • The Everett City Council hereby declares that it is not in the public <br /> interest for property owned by the city to remain econerdeallY nenPrOduCtrx <br />• if it can be leased or sold for reasonable value and is not needed for some <br /> present or future municipal use. It is therefore declared to be the policy <br /> to reasonably dispose of real property that the City holds a fee interest to, <br />.• <br /> by sale or lease,where such ProllertY is declared be bo <br />• to its current or future needs a.where such disposition would be expected <br /> to provide the City a reasonable return from the transaction. <br />• <br /> Section 2: Initiation of Surplus Proper.'to fn.or Ler. <br />• <br /> A. Sale <br />• <br /> Surplus action may be initiated by the City of Everett,other <br /> municipal corporations,governmental agencies,private corporations, <br />• private business,or individuals. If action is initiated by other <br /> than the City of Everett,a cash deposit in an amount so determined <br />, <br />• by the Real Property Manager shall be posted to cover all City costs <br />• of surplus property action.
