That the Mayer is aUthorised to execute grant contract agree- <br />' ments on behalf of the City of Everett with the U.S.Department of Trans- <br />. portation for aid in the financing of the operating assistance projects. <br />•• <br /> Roll was called wi.all Councilmen voting yes,except Councilmen <br /> Michelson and Gipson,who were excused,000 110100 Aldcroft,who was <br /> absent from voting. <br /> Motion Carried <br /> 11 • <br /> RESOLUTION SUPPORTING F.U.S.E.PROPOSAL <br /> Moved by Councilman Overstreet,seconded 01 101000 Pope,to adopt <br /> Resolution No.2005 as follows: <br /> A RESOLUTION requesting the Snohomish County P.U.D. <br /> No.1 Commissioners consider programs providing <br /> relief from electrical power rate increases for low <br /> income senior citizens. <br /> WHEREAS,low income senior citizens fitit it very difficult to PaY higher <br /> living expenses wbich result from rate increases for necessary goods and <br /> services,and <br /> WHEREAS,low income senior citizens deserve consideration when rates and <br /> 1 costs are increased to see if such rate or cost increases might be structurd <br /> to give some relief to low income senior citizens who are leas,able to pay <br /> inI <br /> reased rates and costs,and <br /> WHREAS,the Administration and City Council of the City of Everett ex- <br /> 1h.O' dorsed reduced rates for low income senior citizens in its water and sewer <br /> rates, <br /> • NOW,THEREFORE,the City Council of tbe City of Everett resolves: <br /> That the Commissioners of the Snohomish County Public Utility District <br />• No.I are enconraged to consider any and all alternatives which would give <br /> some relief from increased electrical power rates to low income senior <br /> • <br /> . citizens such as the four point proposal of the Fair Use of Snohomish <br /> • <br /> Energy organizations: <br /> 1. Freeze rates at last year's level of 1.55 cents/5140 for the <br /> the winter of 1,81-52. <br /> • 2. In future winters there should be a permanent 408 discount. <br /> 3. The costs of this discount should be paid 408 by the resi- <br /> dential customers and 604 by the other customers. <br /> • <br /> 4. This discount would only be for low-income elderly(0210 <br /> over,income <br /> 00 0010 to qualify for the 005021 50 <br /> discount). <br /> The Commissioners are encouraged to consider all other such proposals <br />• for relief to low income senior citizens in making their difficult c1oo,o,oR <br />•• Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes,except Councilmen Michels°. <br /> and Gipson,who were excused. <br /> Motion Carried <br /> • <br /> • <br /> 1•• <br /> I r- <br />
