Motion Carried 11 • RESOLUTION SUPPORTING F.U.S.E.PROPOSAL Moved by Councilman Overstreet,seconded 01 101000 Pope,to adopt Resolution No.2005 as follows: A RESOLUTION requesting the Snohomish County P.U.D. No.1 Commissioners consider programs providing relief from electrical power rate increases for low income senior citizens. WHEREAS,low income senior citizens fitit it very difficult to PaY higher living expenses wbich result from rate increases for necessary goods and services,and WHEREAS,low income senior citizens deserve consideration when rates and 1 costs are increased to see if such rate or cost increases might be structurd to give some relief to low income senior citizens who are leas,able to pay inI reased rates and costs,and WHREAS,the Administration and City Council of the City of Everett ex- 1h.O' dorsed reduced rates for low income senior citizens in its water and sewer rates, • NOW,THEREFORE,the City Council of tbe City of Everett resolves: That the Commissioners of the Snohomish County Public Utility District • No.I are enconraged to consider any and all alternatives which would give some relief from increased electrical power rates to low income senior • . citizens such as the four point proposal of the Fair Use of Snohomish • Energy organizations: 1. Freeze rates at last year's level of 1.55 cents/5140 for the the winter of 1,81-52. • 2. In future winters there should be a permanent 408 discount. 3. The costs of this discount should be paid 408 by the resi- dential customers and 604 by the other customers. • 4. This discount would only be for low-income elderly(0210 over,income 00 0010 to qualify for the 005021 50 discount). The Commissioners are encouraged to consider all other such proposals • for relief to low income senior citizens in making their difficult c1oo,o,oR •• Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes,except Councilmen Michels°. and Gipson,who were excused.
