January 13,1982 Councilman Aldcroft recommended to Administration that the ordinances .regarding emergency medical matters be brought back reviewed and proposed changer discussed. He felt the essence wasand the protection of the people of Everett. mayor Moore rssured Council tt the level of service would not be any waY without thehaambulance contract,and Chief McNall red.concur Councilman.Stephensoa asked if the City had the capacity:to transport ' said wthe exastang personnel and vehacles and Chief McNall aid it didath. , Councilman Michelson said be felt a,public notice should be put in the ' paper about this and asked about the city,liability to pay charges ng for a patient transported,to a hospital after calling 911. Mayor Moore 9 said Baker is not a subscriber.to 911 and therefore the City would not be laable for the charge. SiPson Peked ar the City might be going into the patient , transportation hmaness a.chief mchall replied perhaps it was,but had no intention of becoming a taxi service. President POpe said he would work with the Mayor and his staff and schedule a workshop to review the ordinances. Councilman Overstreet asked what areas,if any,might have a shortfall ' from this,and Chief McNall Said he did not feel there would be any, • but additional response thne on certain Calls was-a Possibility.
