11.1111k <br /> 482 <br /> December 8,1982 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 8:30 a.m.,December 8,1902,in the Council Chambers of the Everett <br /> City Hall,President Pope presiding. Upon roll call It was found that <br /> Mayor Moore and all Councilmen were in attendance. <br /> Minutes of the meeting held December 1,198E,were approved as printed <br /> withCouncilman Gipson and Overstreet abstaining from voting on approval <br /> of the minutes. <br /> APPOINTMENTS-SENOR CENTER BOARD <br /> Mayor Moore asked for Council's concurrence in two aPPointments to the <br /> Senior Center Board. <br /> Moved by Councilman Langus,seconded by Councilman Overstreet,to concur <br /> with the Mayor's appointment of Alan White to serve on the Senior Center <br /> Board,term to expire January 1,1989. <br /> Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yeu. <br /> Motion Carried <br /> Moved by Councilman Stephenson,seconded by Councilman Langus,to concur <br /> in the appointment of Jack Powlas to serve on the City of Everett Senior <br /> Center Board,term to expire January 1,1989. <br /> Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes. <br /> 4. Motion Carried <br /> MAYOR'S COMMENTS <br /> Mayor Moore announced that Eill Cushman would be bringing Council up to <br /> date regarding a property tax and inventory tax situation which will <br /> affect Everett's citizens. This presentation would take place later <br /> this morning. <br /> COUNCILMEN'S COMMENTS <br /> =chrtefTtff:grg:lifg c"m"t'n' <br /> Councilman Overstreet said that Charles Royer has been elected president <br /> of 111,C,which will be of benefit to Everett. added that the 1983 Nth <br /> convention will be held in Seattle. <br /> Councilman Aldcreft reported that the committee to select a consultant <br /> to prepare the economic development study had met this morning and <br /> its recommendation has been submitted to the Mayor for review. <br /> President Pope announced that today' from 12'30-1130 the Chmnber of <br /> Commerce will be presenting a video tape to the County Council on <br /> state government tax structure. <br /> Councilman Michelson said he had attended the Cities and Towns meeting <br /> last weer which wau well-attended. <br />
