137 <br /> April 20,1983 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 7:00 p.m.,April 20,1981,in the Council Chambers of the Everett City <br /> Hall,President Pope presiding. Upon roll call it was found that <br /> Mayor moore and all Councilmen wexe in attendance. <br /> minutes 78 3139 meeting held April 13,1983,were approved as Printed: <br /> EMERGENCY SERVICES FUNDING <br /> Mayor Moore reported that a request had been received from Snohomish <br /> county EmerTency Services to assess cities an additional.04r/person <br /> 1:11 <br /> to help make up a shortfall caused by one of the cities withdrawing <br /> from the program. This would amount to$2,268 for Everett. He asked ,.1 <br /> for Council's approval for this expenditure. <br /> President Pope said he had just distributed a memo to Council members <br /> on this subject and asked that this matter be delayed until theY hen <br /> a chance to read it. 44 <br /> mayor Moore then said he would grant the expenditure as it was within <br /> his realm to do so. <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Moore proclaimed the week of April 24-30,1981,as"National <br /> Consumer Credit Education Week.. <br /> PRESIDATIT S COMMENTS ' <br /> President Pope announced there would be an Executive Session at the <br /> cOUCluM 'of CtOMhMe EmStig to discusa lgal matter <br /> -V <br /> Councilman Michelson reporTed the Human Needs Committee had met and <br /> reviewed the many requests for funding. He said the recipients would <br /> be notified shortly. <br /> Councilman 117 3311 asked to be excused at 7:20 p.m.due to another ' <br /> commitrwnt. He said he had reviewed the block grant neighborhood <br /> 33 3911397:3939: 393:and concurred with the 3 neighborhoods' <br /> requests for their projects. <br /> r <br /> Councilman Stephenson asked that staff take a look at the conditions <br /> et Madison and So.Broadway where an accident recently occurred and <br /> there have been several near-misses. <br /> Cow:oilman Stephanaon reported that a meeting had been held with <br /> Bruce Tones regarding the City's performance in the area of minority <br /> contractors. /t was pretty much determined that,in the area of <br /> state and local contracts,it was difficult to measure. It is felt <br /> that certain language should be added in contracts that-would have <br /> 14"contracts come back to the city and report how they are performing. <br />
