He said roey were <br /> ready and eager to begin soliciting funds for the center. <br /> mayor Moore said the land owners in this block seemed to be quite <br /> receptive to this facility,however until money is roilable the <br /> City is unable to make a commitment. <br /> and attract business here. g , <br /> J 1 <br /> Mayor Moore said he would like to see an advisory committee establised <br /> fOr this project. <br /> Councilman Stephenson ch..introduced a resolution in support of a <br /> civic center advisory committee. <br /> WHEREAS,the community has sought for years various cultural, <br /> arts and conference facilities,and <br /> WHEREAS,the City with the arts and business interests have in- ,1,! <br /> vested in the pursuit of cultural development,and <br /> WHEREAS,such efforts for civic and cultural development have <br /> gained acceptance throughout the community,and. <br /> WHEREAS,the momentum of the Everett Civic Center movement has <br /> brought the community to roe point of consideration of proposalsg <br /> NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Everett eatablish <br /> an Everett Civic Center Advisory Committee eo review,consider and <br /> recommend to the Mayor and City Council actions to develop,construct, <br /> manage and operate such a complex. <br /> Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes,except Councilman <br /> Michelson,who was excused. <br /> Motion Carried <br /> $ <br /> APPOINTMENTS '"1. <br /> Mayor Moore then aaid he would like toappoint Chris Littl,Murray <br /> Campbell,Buzz Rodlend and Dr.Paul Walker te.the civic center <br /> advisory committee,with Councilman Stephenson as Council <br /> representative,and asked for Council's concurrence. <br /> Moved by Councilman Gipson,seconded hy Councilman Aldcroft,to <br /> concur with roe Mayor's appointment of the above PeoPle semac. <br /> on the Civic Center Advisory Board. <br /> R11 11d withall.Tuncilmen voting yes,except Councilman <br /> Motion Carried <br />
