' maminer h.arrived to make his report as 11sted under otem ed. , 4 HEARING EXAMINER REPORT 1'i il' ., Jim Driscoll,Hearing Examiner,said he had been appointed as Hearing Examiner for the City of Everett in late 1.80 and expressed appreciation ;4''.$1,I for the cooperation he had received from all of the City staff mereers. ,Ill 2.1 lc He pointed out the written report of his activities eince August of 1981 to Pre..and said he had Previoasid given this report to the Planning Commission. Driscoll said the Hearing Examiner Ordinance had recently been amended ' '1.04.',5' making the Hearing Sxaminer a decision making euthoritY with aPPeal to the 1 l-1,t1 City Council and he appreciated the confidence the City haA placed in him. He fele it was a more expedient process for the citizens. IV Councilman Overstreet felt that the written verbatum transcript should lol made available to the Council so that when the appeal comes before Council it is not made into another p.lic hearing but actually only if there are new fa°,that were not brought for.in the hearing examiner's public hearing. 1 I.1- Councilman Stephenson agreed with Councilman Overstreet ana felt this would be the better process. Bruce Jones said ha would meet with the staff a.come back to the Council with some alternatives for their review.
