Upon roll gall it wee found that <br /> ,!34 11,4.1 1, mayor Moore and all Councilmen were in attendance. <br /> minutes of the meeting held 181 26 1983,were approved as printed <br /> I 30'' with Councilman Gipson abstaining from voting. <br /> MAYOR'S COMMENTS <br /> Mayor 80018 8808 a year ago he had asked Councilman Michelson to be a <br /> 03 400 member of the Snohomish County Food and Shelter Committee and Council- <br /> '..2:'14.1-, man Michelson had been happy to serve on <br /> 9wothis board. He said this <br /> board had diepeneed 1)5,000 rth of food and shelter during thia paet <br /> :0 tt`F.''',' year with absolutely no administration costs and he felt this was an <br /> outstanding job. <br /> .10 <br /> He then said 1681 860 citizens seemed to have&6180000861180 of the <br /> City's activities as far as the Navy is concerned. He said the City's <br /> role has only been to respond and the Port of Everett has been dealing <br /> with the Navy. The City has been studying the impacts of the Foaaibil"4 <br /> '1.1 rtL iA,' of having the Navy here. FOr this reason he and the Coenchl Preeident <br /> 0 1' , have been working together setting up a pUblio meeting to hear the <br /> concerns of the citizens with the Council listening,but not taking part <br /> the discussion. There will be a moderator who will moderate the <br /> meeting,a court reporter will be in attendance and the meeting will be <br /> .,L h'j.0 taped and a copy of this complete transcript will be forwarded to the <br /> Navy who have inquired into being based here. <br /> President Pope then Said an agenda and p6018806:8 8808 before the Co'mcil <br /> and aeked for a motion adopting this for the public meeting. <br /> Moved by Councilman Stephenson,seconded by Councilman bang'',to <br /> adopt the agenda and procedures presented for the special meeting to he <br /> . hc4 0 held in the Ginny Stevens Hearing Room at the Courthouse at 9:00 p.m., <br /> November 17,1983. <br /> Councilman Overstreet asked about the response to specific questions <br /> and how the Council could amk questions bf the participants and Mayer <br /> Moore felt the Cocheil should not answer any queetions di UM,time <br /> l'if 40014,' because of the advice of the City Attorney.
