'bts" t <br /> thist,,,,t,i <br /> November 9,1983 <br /> Roll was called on the Consent Agenda Items with all Councilmen voting <br /> Yes,except Councilman Aldcroft,who was excused. <br /> Motion Carried <br /> WATER CONTRACT AMENDMENT <br /> ,..9 <br /> ;A 4 <br /> Bruce Jones,City Attorney,explained that he and Clair Olivers had <br /> been working on this for quite some time as it was felt that the City <br /> of Monroe!should share in the cost of filtered water based on their <br /> ilt;'' consumption. Under the 1963 agreement between Everett and Monroe,they <br /> l'ir now pay 8120.63/MG for water putmhased from the City. After prolonged <br /> negotiations,Monroe hae proposed to pay Everett the;same rate as <br /> Alderwood Water District 1594.26/MG),plus a filtration charge,resulting <br /> in a total charge of approximately 8419/MG for its water. <br /> '9,t. He eaid the contract also includes a clause releasing Monroe to purchase <br /> 1 q.,A,!: all water required by their municipal system and allowing major users to <br /> it'l;;II supplement their water supply from other sources. Monroe may also <br /> use other sources from and aftex April 18,1988. <br /> Councilman Overstreet inquired as to the impact of this release and Olait <br /> li;j:';',1;'' Olivess said it could result in a 5-68 loss in revenue over the next <br /> 5 years or so. <br /> ,,,t,t, Meyor Meore asked if the releese would have an effect on Monroe's respons3 <br /> ;malty regarding the 95 plpeline and Mr.Jones replied that the 1963 <br /> agreement was not like the mill contracts even though it was negotiated <br /> ', "1'8 1'' about the same time of the bond sale and did not provide for this <br /> improvement. <br /> , r,R1 Moved by Councilman Gipson,seconded by Councilman Overstreet,to <br /> amthorise tne Mayor to enter into an amendment to the 1963 water contract <br /> .. h, with the City of Monroe. <br /> ' 1 rl I..
