City Hall,President Pope presiding. DPon roll 0.1 it was fern'.tHat <br /> Mayor Moore and all Councilman were in attendance,except Councilman <br /> ' Gipson,who was excused. <br /> Minutes of the meeting held December 2,1983,were approved as printed. <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Moore proclaimed today,December 7th,as Pearl Harbor Day in <br /> Everett. Woodrow Williams then accepted the proclamation from the <br /> Mayor on behalf of.e Pearl Harbor Association. <br /> Councilman Langus announced a.11:00 a.m.today there would be a.ceremony <br /> at the Courthouse sponsored by the Everett Memorial Committee on this <br /> subject. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Budget CommIttee Chairman Stephaneon said there would be a special <br /> budget meeting at 7:00 a.m.,Monday the 12.to deal with.e property <br /> tax issue and they should be coming to Council with some alternatives <br /> and recommendations. <br /> President Pope asked about swim pool cover financing and Councilman <br /> a'1, Stephenson replied tbat he h.met with Bill Cushman regarding an <br /> alternative finanOing plan Over:1,4i,year period. <br /> Mayor Moore then commented that it was not the City's intent to close <br /> the swimming pool or cut down on any services. On November 29th a second public hearing was held on <br /> single-family policies where several special interest groups harshly <br /> attacked the product of their long erre.. She felt the committee <br /> hed faithfully followed the process and the dissenters should also <br /> Rave done the same rather than coming at the last minute to undermine <br /> this orderly process. <br />
