January 4,1384 ,adt. <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at <br /> 8,10 a.m.January 4,1983 in the Council Chamber of the Everett City hall, ')WgN <br /> president eppe presiding. upon roll call it was found that Mayor Moore and <br /> all councilmen were in attendance. <br /> Minutes of the meeting held December 28,1983 were approved as printed. <br /> MAYOR'S COMMENTS <br /> mayor Moore commented that during the cold spell the Water and Sewer Departments g, <br /> h.turned off water an 402 homes Where the pipes had frozen. He said aldo h <br /> that 5 major'water mains had brekendue to the ground shifting. Me said this <br /> was in addition to all the calls the Fire Department had. <br /> COUNCILMEN COMMENTS <br /> Councilman Gipson presented the Mayor with a check for 32500 from Channel 16, <br /> a TV Company he was ymrticipating in and hopefully would be on the air in <br /> aboat seven months. He requested the Mayor to use the money on various <br /> charities as he saw fit but Raid the company would like$500 be given to <br /> some of the Nord people who were having problems because of the strike. <br /> President Pope then thanked the anUnintttraticalandwouncil fox their support <br /> the past two years and turned the chair over to President Stephenson who <br /> presented Councilman Pope with a plaque with hi.gay... <br /> Councilman Michelson said the committee to disburse federal funds for food ,I <br /> and shelter had received an additional$150,000 and he would again be <br /> .mrking on the committee disbursing these funds. <br /> Councilman Morrow thanked 00000000100 and council 000010100 in <br /> oriNting h.in the process of city government. <br /> President Stephenson then thanked Councilman Pope agaan for hie work in <br /> streamliningthacouncil meetings etc.and said he would try and follow his <br /> example. Ile also hoped the council would continue to bring new businesses <br /> in the area and promote tourism. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING-COMP PLAN ON 10TH AVE.11.
