74 7 February 29,1984 Fr 1 The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at , 8:30 a.m.,February 29,1984,in the Council Chambers of the Everett , City Hall,President Stephenson presiding. Upon roll call it was !' I found that Mayor Moore and all Councilmen were in attendance. . I ' Minutes of the meeting held February 22,1904,were approved as printed. POLICE OFFICER APPO/NTMENT Mayor Moore then introduced Thomas J.Maurer as a new Police Officer I with the City of Everett. Mr.Meurer was then given the oath of office . by the City Clerk. MAMMON BRIDGE REPAIR Theal,Public Works Director,reported the concrete deck on the Alverson Bridge had developed a hole forcing the closure of the bridge ! to westbound traffic. He aaid emergency authorization is requested to employ a bridge consulting engineering firm to examine the bridge and determine the load limit and type of repair°needed. He said the City was in the process of interviewing engineers for the Lombard bridge and had limited to three for final decision. He requested authorization to employ one of these three,Harold B.Sargent and Associates,as the consultant for the Alverson bridge. Moved by Councilman Pope,second.by Councilman Michelson,to authOrize the&levet to etee an agreement Harold B.Sargent a.Associates ' as consulting engineer for the Alverson bridge. Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yes. Motion Carried EXECUTIVE SESSION 't!
