157 <br /> April 18,1984 <br /> Alice Dye,of 2130 106th Pl.S.E.,spoke of her conerns that this <br /> type of facility might be allowed in the Silver Lake area. <br /> marcia Livingston,of 6414 Cady Rd.,spoke of the relationship <br /> between pornography and crimes against women and children. She <br /> suggested that the City impose a special tax on this type of <br /> business and use these monies to fund organizations such as Rape <br /> Relief,Stop Abuse,etc. <br /> Rex Bean,of 7406 Olympic Dr.,said he did not feel the City was <br /> going far enough and ehould zone this type of business right out <br /> of existence by making the boning regulations so prohibitive they <br /> won't be able to come into Everett. <br /> Carol Lively,of 4301 So.3rd,objected to the zoning being too <br /> close to the Lowell area. She said they already had problemo with <br /> hoboee and transients because of the tracks and felt adult enter- <br /> tainment places would draw even more undesirables into her neigh- <br /> borhood. <br /> Bill Sieh,of 10907 29th Dr.S.E.,read a letter from Pastor <br /> Arthur'Sather objecting to any of these businesses in the city <br /> ir=rbei:12:e=tag-rz:27"""'"" <br /> Mae Stork, of 1512 Baker,qa.a statement from her church opposi, <br /> this type of thing being allowed in Everett and said the City should <br /> begin developing more types of wholesome recredtion and commented <br /> that the ma,people probably wouldn't want this type of thing either. <br /> Rob Lund,of 3006 Smith,pointed out the area designated for adult <br /> entertainment facilities was half residential and half business and <br /> this sort of thing would upset the balance there. <br /> Pat Eite,of 10523 56.Ave.M.D.,Mazysvilled said she was speaking <br /> for Men White,who wanted the public to know about a.new film called <br /> °Love Story°which will be available the first week in May. , ' <br /> EouiqueRoggen.8p,of 12190 SD 15.St..Eel...,spoke of the <br /> effect of pornography on men,women and children. She urged support <br /> of pending legislation dealing with pornograp,laws Ththe state. <br /> Gary Kell,of 2806 139.St.S.E.,objected.any so.,changes in <br /> the Eastmont area and objected to any pornographic material being <br /> allowed in the City. <br /> Gail Chi.,of 4601 So.4th,felt the City should declare a <br /> moratorium on this altogether and that the problem could be solved <br /> by the City and citizens working together. <br /> 2./les,Assistant City Attorney,pointed out the City could not <br /> legally ban these types of uses and therefore a moratorium would be <br /> inappropriate. <br /> b..Chism pointed out the route to the dump and animal shelter was <br /> through this area and ma,children would be going to these Pl.. <br /> with their parents. She asked that 41.St.be included.an entry <br /> corridor. She also raised the question of this possibly being an <br /> aree included in block grant funding and Dennis Derickson said it <br /> might be but no block grant funds had been spent there. <br />
