163 <br /> April 25,1989 <br /> fhe regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order <br /> at 8:30 a.m.,April 25,1984,in the Council Chambers of the Everett <br /> City Ball,President Stephanson presiding. Upon roll call it was <br /> found that Mayor Moore and all Councilmen were in attendance,except <br /> Councilman Longue,who was excused. <br /> minutes of the meeting held April 18,1984,were approved with the <br /> following corrections: President Stephanson pointed out on the first <br /> page in the third paragraph.County-wide.should be added to the <br /> paragraph. He also pointed out on the following page,Pnge l5f,in <br /> the sixth paragraph,the final line should read.it was not known <br /> whether it would stop the Navy from locating here.. Councilman <br /> Overstreet pointed out on Page 153 the fourth speaker should be Jack <br /> Gardner,rather than Bartner. <br /> APPOINTMENT <br /> Mayor Moore said he had just appointed Jean Lagonvino-as a member of <br /> the Arts Commission and asked for confirma.tion by the Council. <br /> Moved by Councilman Michelson,seconded by Councilman Gipson,to <br /> confirm the appointment of Jean Lagoraino as a member of the Arts <br /> Commission. <br /> Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yea,except Councilman <br /> Langus,who was excused. <br /> Motion Carried <br /> PROCLAMATIONS <br /> Mayor Moore proclaimed the following: <br /> April 29-May 5 as AlcohoLarld Drug Abuse Awareness and <br /> Edu t'on Week <br /> May 4th and 5th as White Cane Day <br /> May 6-12 as Small Business Week <br /> September 7.as Peace Day in Everett <br /> and he also urged the citivens to wear a Buddy Poppy as mute <br /> Z::geetl:sc=hYwno'nrinue to <br /> enjoy as American citirens. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilman Overstreet commented on the forthcoming legislative <br /> conference by AWC and asked for input from the Council. He felt <br /> they probably mould be diE,CUSSing infrastructure,the DWI funding <br /> PrOblems,public pension funds,bid limita,boundary review boards <br /> and asked if there was anything the Council wished to discuss. <br /> Counoilman'Morrow said he was concerned with the model conservation <br /> ataMdards and also the pornography laws. <br />
