163 April 25,1989 fhe regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 a.m.,April 25,1984,in the Council Chambers of the Everett City Ball,President Stephanson presiding. Upon roll call it was found that Mayor Moore and all Councilmen were in attendance,except Councilman Longue,who was excused. minutes of the meeting held April 18,1984,were approved with the following corrections: President Stephanson pointed out on the first page in the third paragraph.County-wide.should be added to the paragraph. He also pointed out on the following page,Pnge l5f,in the sixth paragraph,the final line should read.it was not known whether it would stop the Navy from locating here.. Councilman Overstreet pointed out on Page 153 the fourth speaker should be Jack Gardner,rather than Bartner. APPOINTMENT Mayor Moore said he had just appointed Jean Lagonvino-as a member of the Arts Commission and asked for confirma.tion by the Council. Moved by Councilman Michelson,seconded by Councilman Gipson,to confirm the appointment of Jean Lagoraino as a member of the Arts Commission. Roll was called with all Councilmen voting yea,except Councilman Langus,who was excused. Motion Carried PROCLAMATIONS Mayor Moore proclaimed the following: April 29-May 5 as AlcohoLarld Drug Abuse Awareness and Edu t'on Week May 4th and 5th as White Cane Day May 6-12 as Small Business Week September 7.as Peace Day in Everett and he also urged the citivens to wear a Buddy Poppy as mute Z::geetl:sc=hYwno'nrinue to enjoy as American citirens. COUNCIL COMMENTS Councilman Overstreet commented on the forthcoming legislative conference by AWC and asked for input from the Council. He felt they probably mould be diE,CUSSing infrastructure,the DWI funding PrOblems,public pension funds,bid limita,boundary review boards and asked if there was anything the Council wished to discuss. Counoilman'Morrow said he was concerned with the model conservation ataMdards and also the pornography laws.
