<br /> Richard Kenna of 2216-36th Street,reported that he had requested vacation
<br /> of Paine Avenue in the 3600 block,and the street had been vacated by the
<br /> council. As per ordinance,he had paid for the appraisal and found it to I I r.,,:

<br /> be much higher than he thought the property was worth. Under the ordinance,
<br /> f
<br /> the petitioner must pay one-half the appraised value within 90 days follow-.
<br /> ing Passage of the ordinance. This time would be up on August 16,19., .
<br /> and he was unable to pay this amount at this time. He requested an •
<br /> extension of 90 days to pay the appraisal fee and/or a ten year contract .
<br /> for payment of the fee. He said the street was dead ended and he had been .
<br /> using it for storage and if this were granted,he would be able to expand
<br /> his business,put the property on the tax rolls and increase business tax
<br /> pa.to the city.
<br /> In anewering a question by"e council,Bruce Tones,City Attorney,said

<br /> he had never looked into the possibility of a time payment of the appraisal
<br /> gee and there was nothing in the R.C.W.or the city code which would ,
<br /> prohibit it,but he would have to research it carefully prior to giving
<br /> a recommendation as to wnat type of agre0a.nt uould te reached.
