80 <br /> march 6,1985 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order <br /> • at 8:30 a.m. March 8.1985 in the Council Chambets_ot_the Everett_ <br /> City Hall, President Stephenson presiding. Upon roll call it was <br /> found that Mayor Moore and all councilmen were in attendance. <br /> • <br /> minutee of the meeting held'Peb.27,1985 were approved as printed. <br /> SNOHOMISH HEALTH DISTEICT REPORT <br /> II Dr. Claris Hyatt of the Snohomish Health District presented a <br /> written report to the council and pointed out that at one time the <br /> City and the County each had their own Health Department. in 1958, <br /> discussions were held and the two health departments were joined <br /> under the name of Snohomish Health District. In 1968 a law was <br /> passed that required one Health District be established with the <br /> county and all cities and towns partieipating. <br /> She said this report coVered general information about the Health <br /> District, tbe Legal Authority, annual reports on Public Health <br /> Services, which included Nursing and the Environmental Health <br /> Division, Alcohol Detoxification Pacility and the Jail Health <br /> Service. Budget information was also in,the report as well as <br /> information on the Laboratory and Vital Statistics Division. <br /> • <br /> • <br /> There were three stationary clinics,one in LynnwoOd,ens too dal,e a <br /> week in Sultan and one in the court bouee. She said it was <br /> ' • difficult to obtain exact figures as to the Services performed in <br /> the City of Everett, but under the NUreing Division H3,053 PeroPe <br /> I I were served by the department in direct eervices. There were 24,357 <br /> • direct services in the Environmental Health Division, with 2,816 <br /> inspections in Everett. <br /> I I <br /> She thanked the council for allowing her to present her report and <br /> said she realized it had been some time since the last one. <br /> President Stephauson thanked her on behalf of the council for such <br /> . , an extensive and complete report. <br /> • <br /> MAYOR'S COMMENTS <br /> • Mayor Moore introduced 'Mayor for the Day. Caney Grant Who was <br /> • representing the catholic community and at Mary Magdalen Church. <br /> EMPLOYEE OP THE MONTH <br /> He then presented Chris Behnder of the Police Department, the <br /> Employee of the Month award. <br /> APPOINTMENTE <br /> Moved-by-DeunoDlman Overstreet, seeondcd bY COunciiMee Lang,. to <br /> concur in the Mayor,appointment of Jack Walkley as a member of the <br /> Transportation advisory Committee.
