He could see no reasoneto pass ao ordinance with all these regulations when it would oito enforce them. • • Don strati,:of 11621 W.Silverlake Drive felt the ordinance was too extreme on the boating regulations,buts r were Do reg.....as to the use of air mattress.or inner tubes which could be dangerous to children. e felt there should also be more sanitary facils with the lare.Battendance as it was causing polution in the water. Also,there were always swimmers who stayed aft hr the'closing hours making much noise. This seemed to be impossible to enforce also. se recommended delaying the ordinance until more of these details • could be solved. • Moved•by Councilman Micheleon, seconded by Councilman Gipson to close the public hearing. • President Gtephenson asked if anyone further wished to speak and no one replied. Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes except Councilman GangUs who was excused. Motion carried. President Stephenson asked•the city attorney if the city would be mere liable if this ordinance was not adopted and there were no . regulations for the lake. Mr. Weight replied by mot having an ordinance and not regulating those natters he did not believe that the city would be incurring a greater liability for that than if the City had them. We said all of the ordinances of the city that are currently in effect, such-as the reckless endangerment section in the criminal code, wmad cover a lot of the things that are not specifically covered in this ordinance. • President Stephenson then asked if a boat was going 35 miles an hour on the lake what would happen'and sr. Weight sa.in his°Pinion this would be recklees endangerment and vmuld be covered under the municipal code.
