"." <br /> 72 <br /> February 19,1986 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order <br /> at 8:3D a.m., February 19, 1986 in the Council Chambers of the <br /> Everett City Hall, President Gipson Presiding. 8lion roli Oa" it <br /> was found that Mayor Moore and all councilmen were present. <br /> Minutes of the meeting held February 12,1986 were ApProved es <br /> printed with Councilmen Overstreet and Morrow abstaining. <br /> POLICE RESERVE OPFIcERS COMMISSIODING <br /> Captain Jerry Aaron, Everett Police Department, stated from a <br /> initial group of 69 applicants, the Everett Police Department has <br /> accepted four new police reserve of ficers, three who will be <br /> commissioned tonight. He then introduced Police Reserve Captain <br /> , Dennis Wintch wha reviewed the rigerous training schedule and <br /> ability requirements that are necessary to be accepted as an EVerett <br /> Police Reserve Officer. <br /> Donna Rider,Deputy City Clerk,gave the oath of office to Officers <br /> Scott R. Telford, Donald E. Williams Jr. and Dale L. Williams. <br /> Mayor Moore presented each officer with his badge and the officers <br /> were welcomed by the Council members. <br /> 11, <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> M=g1Te 2:g:mictMenliTt'gectore Be Ill ! <br /> r=":vegttcegliCe <br /> Department. <br /> Councilman Overstreet remarked on the excellent presentations at the <br /> morning workshops and stated that it showed promise for great <br /> planning strides to be made at the retreat on Friday and Saturday, <br /> February 21 and 22 at Sudden Valley. <br /> Councilman Overstreet also requested that his fellow councilmembers <br /> contact members of the Douse Judicial Committee to express their <br /> views on the tort liability isaue. <br /> Councilman Diva complimented the Administration on the notice in the <br /> Everett News Tribune asking citizens to let tbe Mayor's Office know <br /> if they are interested on serving the various boards and commissions <br /> in the City. <br /> a Councilman Morrow stated that Byron Deegan of the Port GArdner <br /> community is in the hospital after suffering a stroke. He thanked <br /> his fellow couneilmembers for signing a card for Mr.Reegen. <br /> Councilman Morrow also commented on the positive program that <br /> marysville city Councilmember Rita Natheny is doing with the <br /> weighstatinn for tourism promotion. lie asked if Everett could be <br /> involved in this project in°Ow,waY. • <br /> i <br /> D I <br /> k <br />
