233 : '11 June 11,1986 h, BIDS RECEIVED FOUr bids were received for the construction of the 1986 drainage improvements. These were as follows: KAC Construction Co. $146,899.38 I ,h Dell Johnson Const.Inc. 165,695.99 Bass Construction Co. 169,397.46 I DYAD Construction Inc. 169,706.91 The bid is to be awarded on the total cost of Schedules A 4 B. Schedule C is an additive item that can be included in the contract at the city's option. The low bidder, KAC Const., submitted a bid of $73,975.75 for Schedule C. At this cost,the Public Works Department does not wish to proceed, with construction of Schedule C. The contractor, however,wishes to negoiate the contract amount for Schedule C and it appears that the contractor and the city can negotiate an H contract amount. The Public Works Department therefore, proposes to return to council in a few weeks with a change order to include Schedule c construction. It is recommended that the bid be awarded for Schedules A B to the [Ed' low bidder, KAC Conetruction and authorise the Public Worirds Department to negotiate the contract amount for Schedule C construction. Moved by Councilman Marrow, seconded by Councilman Kiva that the contract for the 1986 Drainage Improvement., Schedules A a B, be awarded to the low bidder KAS Construction Co. based upon their proposal and unit bid of unit prices extended for the estimated ' total of$146,899.88 as received at the bid ,Gening held at 2:00 p.m. June 3, 1986 and aUthorize 66: 161 . Work. Department to negotiate the contract amount for Schedule C construction. Roll was called sith all councilmen voting yes. Motion carried.
