va 233 June 18,1986 Ik! The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 8:30 p.m.June 18, 1986 in the Council Chambers of Everett City Hall,President GipSOn preeiding. Upon roll call it was found that r:got.a:og:u.aendd.all councilmen were present except Councilman Pope Minutes of the Meeting held June 11, 1.091 :61: approved.with_the correction that COUncilman Morrow's comment on page 29 of the minutes referred tO the intersection of Rainier Or. and 'Casino" rather than'Cascade.. ERROR'S COMMENTS , r I mayor moore said the City of Everett's CHIP Program had been presented a National Award of Excellence for Community Development Programs. He said a letter had been received from the city of Duncan, B.C. 44' informing the council a sailing ship from that city would be stopping in Everett on the 30th of June and inviting them to come ir aboard for a tour. COUNCIL COMMENTS .1 r Councilman Overstreet reviewed the agenda for the ARC convention saying there would be several seesione on energy conservation. dr' r r, l'r Councilman Stephenson said there would 16 1001167 budget meeting next Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. kr.f:1 He said also that the Lowell Neighborhood group was supporred to have their proposals and procedures back to coUncll at this meeting bUt r they had asked for an extension of time. LOWELL NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK GRANT Moved by Councilman Stephenson, seconded by Councilman Morrow that ro'r. the Lowell Neighborhood group be granted an extension of time until JUly 16 to present their ptojects to the council. 11011 was 1:1190:111 all councilmen Voting yes except Councilman Pope who was excused. ."rrr Motion carried. oRESIDENT,COMMENTS r President Gipeon said he had received a letter from Ron Jacobson regarding Stop Abuse which he would cOpy for each councilman.
