She said there were several city <br /> staff people there too and theY .1/ felt it leersing <br /> eRnerience. <br /> h I Councilman Stephenson introduced Terry Fieck of 2805 1/2 Colby who <br /> , said he was representing 'PRIDE EVERETT'. This stands for <br /> Progressive Retailers in Downtown Everett, the organization that <br /> sponsored the street fair this year. Mr. Fieck said the merchants <br /> Hhave rented the J. C. Penney Building-which will be opened from <br /> November 28th through the Christmas season for entertainment and <br /> shows for children and adults. $6,000 has been raised by the <br /> downtown retailers to pay for advertising, entertainment, etc. but <br />' , they do not have esOlIgh money to purchase a tree. He said Chef had <br /> quotes on two artificial trees which ran between$2500 to$2,00 and <br /> both had three year guarantees. The tree would be installed on top <br /> of the structure at the intersection of Hewitt and Colby. <br /> Councilman Stephenson said the budget committee had met informally <br /> prior to the council meeting this morning and approved his request <br /> for fends.
