Motion carried. Councilman Overstreet asked if council would coneider using a • portion of the 1/4 of la reel estate excise tax for the Smith Island Park IAC match. After discuseion, Chairman Stephaneon requested that the use of a portion of the excise tax be available for consideration. He also asked that the final reading of the 1987 budget and the final reading of the utility tax increase be on the agenda of December 24. Meeting recessed at 5:20 p.m. The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order at 7.00 p.a. December 17, 1986, in the Council chamber. of the Everett City Ball, President SipeOn preeiding. Upon roll dell it Vas found that all councilmen were presen,. mayor Moore was excused. Minutes of the meetings held December 5 and 10, 1986 were approved as printed with Councilman Pope abstaining from voting on the ' meeting of Dec.5th. COUNCIL COMMENTS Councilman Pope introduced &on Collin, Chairman of the Snohomish Couety Firefighters Association Food Drive. mr. Collins said the council had donated money to the food drive last year and explained how the money had been used. He id the food roblem is still in the community and asked if the council would agapin donate funds to the food drive.
