541 <br /> Decenber 17,1986 <br /> David Pennington of 711 W Casino also felt more buses with lifts <br /> were needed because to use the van,you had to reserve ahead two or <br /> three days. <br /> Mickey Casey of Lake Stevens objected to the the the empty Trolleys <br /> driving around the city since the disabled people had to wait four <br /> hours between buses with lift.. She suggested the councii yook at <br /> changing their Priorities. <br /> Kelly Bigelow of 3114 mg 93rd, Seattle, advocate for the Diaabled <br /> said she had made a study of the Everett system and found that only <br /> 138 of the system provided for disabled citizens. She urged the <br /> council to provide more. <br /> Councilman Stephenson suggested the council should change their <br /> thinking about more busee for disabled people and perhaps develop a <br /> five year plan for amore futuristic look at this program. <br /> Councilman Niva said she got tbe feeling that these people hers <br /> tonight thought the vans were primarily for the seniors and <br /> Preaident Gipson said to the contrary, both the seniors and tbe <br /> disabled shared these vans. <br /> He said the transit committee would be discussing this and would <br /> keep in touch with the peoPle here tonight. <br /> ITBSIDENTnS COMMENTS <br /> President Gipson read a letter received from Marian Payne,Housing <br /> Inspector, who said after the bid call tee been advertised for <br /> demolition of the house at 2224 Cleveland. Mrs.Nelson owner of the <br /> house bas said idle has sold the property. President Gipson asked if <br /> Mrs. Nelson wee present and she replied she had two offers to <br /> purchase ber property but they were both from out of town. She was <br /> told the bids would be opened 00 050.8th and if she presented proof <br /> of sale to the council prior to eee06105 the bid for demolition,the <br /> council could take some action. <br /> meeting then recessed into Executive Sesaion on a personnel <br /> matter. <br /> - The meeting reconvened into regular session with all councilmen,o <br /> attendance. <br /> PUBLIC REARING-RBKONE <br /> Don Woods of the Planning Department said this is a public hearing <br /> . on the rezone of property located dirently south of 100th St. S.W. <br /> between 4tb Ave.W and lst Place. The property is less than 3 acres <br /> 1 iv size and is zoned R-S Single Family. The request for re...inn he <br /> ' C-1 General Commercial was heard at a public hearing before the <br /> ' Bearing Examiner on Nov.6,1906.
