II, reviewed this proposal last week and recommend this expenditure to assist in getting the museum to move to Everett. 1,','I, i Forrest Rambo, Tourism Division of the Chamber of Commerce, stated . the Museum of Sea and Ships which desires to move from Its present location at Pier 59 in Seattle. the museum Ls a private collection of items related to ships and the history of ships. The$10,000 ftmding request is a one time contribution to be used as start-up 2 funding to facilitate this move. ,111 ,, Additional funding is being sought from the Port of Everett, Snohomish County and private donations. Councilmember Siva stated the museum would not only provide a tourist attraction but would also be available for local school children to learn more of the history of ship and the maritime activities of the waterfront. The museum would also be available , for the pleasure of Everett citizens. Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes except Councilman Overstreet who was excused.
