All 111 I <br /> the improvements will cost approximately$3,500. <br /> Reid Shockey, of Shockey a Associates, 2907 1/2 Hewitt, '1i1r 1 <br /> representing the property owners, stated he became involved in the <br /> discussion about six weeks ago. He stated the property owners are 1 '.1 <br /> opposed to the permanent closure of the Street. <br /> Councilman Stephenson stated it was his understanding that on <br /> October 1, 1986 Council had decided to close the street and had <br /> appropriated$30,000 for that purpose. The City staff was directed 0,1 11,I, <br /> to work with the neighborhood to determine an acceptable way to do ',!. 1 <br /> this. He stated it is not the City's responsibility to underwrite <br /> the entire cost of the reconstruction.
