VMEREAS, on the morning of February 16, 1987, at a <br /> three-alarm fire et Everett Community College, Gary Parka risked <br /> and lost his life in the line of duty by not only aggressively <br /> , . pursuing the fire, Out when trapped by the fire and smoke, <br /> . unselfishly gave of his air supply to allow other traPPed <br /> 11 Firefighters to reach safety;and <br /> WHEREAS, the bond between Gary Parks end his pellow <br /> Firefighters was one of true brotherhood, and his passing ha. <br /> . , saddened each member of that brotherhood and shall not be forgotten; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the Mayor of Everett and the Everett City <br /> Council resolve that the heroic efforts of this dedicated <br /> Firefighter shall be recognized and remembered,and join the family <br /> of Gary Pdrks, as well as the Everett Firefighters, in mourning <br /> their loss. <br /> Roll was called with 411 councilmen voting yea. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> A moment of silent prayer was observed in memory of Gary Parks. <br /> ki&a__ ._ ,M==MMMMMEMI <br />
