Ruth Ruppert, has applied for a Shoreline <br /> Permit to allow the filling of approviMatelY 50 algae on the notth <br /> end of Smith Island, south of Union Slough and xeSt of Highear 2, <br /> N. The fill will include up to 800,000 cubic yards of clean <br /> inorganic fill material and the construction of industrial buildings <br /> totaling approximately 1,300,000 square feet in area. The fill <br /> material will be obtained from numerous sources,with each source to <br /> be evaluated by the responsible agencies prior to initiating any <br /> filling. This review will identify physical, chemical and <br /> biological character of landfill material;source of fill; method of <br /> placement and compaction;tyPe of Pro...surfeeing; end method Of <br /> perimeter erosion control. <br /> Councilman Morrow asked if the 50 foot wide wildlife riparian buffer <br /> requirement was adequate.
