She said they had done a lot ofg researching <br /> ching andhad chosen <br /> the yellow Marigold as the city flower. She asked the couneil to <br /> consider this and Vice President Morrow said he would ask the Perk <br /> Department to review this. <br /> p SteveRobertson 1920 Hoyt asked that the Skate Board Ordinance be <br /> 1entl d to allowskate boards in the downtown area after business <br /> hoamurs,such as between 00 p.m.and 2:00 a.m. <br /> Councilman pM1 on said the reasonCouncilman Overstreet had <br /> he <br /> 4 kj introduced [ Orth s because someolder people had been <br /> v VIEknocked d[w1nand injured and the ordinance adopted for the <br /> safety of a citizens. <br /> Councilman give complimented Mr. Robertson on coming to.the council <br /> with his suggestion as this is the proper procedure,even though the <br /> council can't always help. <br /> E El <br /> t�1 4 Councilman Overstreet said often, the evening h e when these <br /> people go to the store or to the movies and if theskate boards w <br /> � 1 allowed, it could cause aproblems. He asked if it wasn't <br /> fi defined to a rather narrow area in the downtown core. <br />( ' <br /> Asst.City Attorney,Mike Weight,said he would send Mr.Robertson <br /> map sho <br /> r <br /> ing the area prohibited and perhaps within a Pew blocks he <br /> would permittedto use the skate board. <br /> If <br /> Ken Oammand of Firefighters Local 350 said at the April 29th <br /> seting an issue came up that wasn't on the agenda,and that was the <br /> details of the appointment of the Fire Marshal. He said they were a <br /> little chagrined when they heard about it because this v mething. <br /> they h n involved in labor talks with the Fire Chief over a <br /> considerable abletime and the issue hes been involved to the contract <br /> eogtiaticns also. e of the things the Chief had mentioned et the <br /> April 29thmeeting wasthat the union had tentatively agreed to take <br /> the line of progression to the Fire Marshal's position out of the <br /> contract. He Pail t mention that the union tagreed to do that if <br /> they could come before the.City Council and present their position <br /> whthe issue. They would be willing to go at that time with <br /> atever City council decided. They wrote to President Gipson <br /> requesting to do this and he had talked with the Meyer and they were <br /> not allowed to appear . Shortly the topic cam up before the <br /> council,which had already been declared to be inappropriate t <br /> come <br /> n <br /> before the council and further, only one side of the issue was <br /> gg present to present hiscase. <br /> I <br /> {uu+iA� <br />
