Mayor Moore wae excueed. <br /> Minutes of the meeting held September 30, 1987 were approved as <br /> Printed. <br /> • <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> councilman Morrow reported on a meeting of the Everett and Snohamieh <br /> County Transit Advisory Committee. Re said they had discussed a <br /> Proposed"park and Ride"facilitY to be located eroUnd 38th Street <br /> off the freeway and improvements to the Transfer station on Hoyt. <br /> PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS <br /> President Gipson asked council for concurrence in the request of the <br /> Everett High School to hold a motor cavalcade from the high school <br /> to Everett Stadium on October 21st.between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m. in <br /> connection with their homecoming celebration. <br /> N:e2sZleirf=7:l'ggrZa::fgt1:!by <br /> C""i'm"""" """e <br /> • <br /> Roll was called with all councilmen voting yes. 1 <br /> Motion carried. <br /> • <br /> • I <br /> ATTORNEy'S COMMENTS <br /> . . <br /> Mr. Jones asked that first reading be held today on a propoeed • <br /> ordinance amending the city's Business and Occupation Tax ordinance. <br /> •I <br /> CIT/BENS COMMENTS <br /> Brent McKinley of 7610 Tyee Road spoke against the Adult Use <br /> Pacilities that were located in Everett and urged the council to try <br /> and remove these places and prohibit any further establishments as <br /> he felt with the Navy coming and the addition of large amounts of <br /> money in this area,it would cause organized crime to move in. <br /> Bill Briles of 826 Broadway asked that a bus stop and lay over etOp <br /> • be removed from the corner of Tower and Broadway. He said there was <br /> no sidewalk so people had to wait in a resident's yard. Also the <br /> street wee very narrow and it was difficult for cars to get by or <br /> see to get into the illGerSeCti011. Re said the had talked to city <br /> staff and had been unable to find anyone who had reviewed the lous' <br /> stop as to safetY. <br /> • <br /> I 1 <br /> President Gipson aeked that the Traffic Engineer and Transit <br /> Neogene,who were both present in the meeting,meet with mr.ernes <br /> regarding this problem. <br /> • <br /> !Is ill,6! <br />
