COUNCIL BILL NO.881-12 ' FINAL READING: I,I AN ORDINANCE amending the ions rates for sewer service in the City of Everett and amending SectIA and 18 of Ordinence No. 'I 1264-86(EGG 14.04.020 and 14.04.025). Clair Olivers, Utilities Superintendent, stated the Utilities . 1.. Division recommends the increase in the monthly sower service rate from $9.30 to $12.30. This increase is required to meet the f ' wastewater treatment plant's increased operations and maintenance 5 II costs. The',Cr..will not be uSed to cover the capital costs of ' the new treatment facilities. Councilmembez Stephenson asked Oat plans have been formulated in . advising the public on the reasons for this increase. Mr. °livers ' IiI stated that messages could be included on the utility bills. Mr.°livers stated the City has a .4 low income qualification for its oltizens but that Lt may be time to review this polloy. Councilmember Gipson stated he felt that in the future special effort should be taken to be sure that the nubile is aware of the ,, proposed rate increases. I.'
