14) <br /> April 13,1988 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order <br /> at 8:30 a.m. Aprll 13, 1988 in the Council Chambers of the Everett <br /> City Hall, President Siva presiding. Upon roll call It was found <br /> that Mayor Moore and all councilmembers were present. <br /> Minutes of the meeting held April 6,1988 were approved as printed. <br /> MAYOR'S COMMENTS <br /> MrcrW::g!Er:::::eteeten:rrnceert:toerf.Competency <br /> ""the'tete to <br /> 14,142.7.g.T proclaimed Nay 16th through May 28th, 1988 as"Buddy <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilmember Morrow introduced Mike Brown who in turn introduced <br /> Robert Swanson of Swan Securities of SlIversprings,Maryland who Is <br /> committed to be the equity partner in the renovation of the Monte <br /> Cristo Hotel. <br /> 2, <br /> Mr. Swanson said they were very pleased to be part of the project <br /> and looked forward to the growth of Everett. He said they were <br /> looking at what the use of the facility would be. Some of it would <br /> be a hotel,but there would probably be other uses as well. He then <br /> introduced Joe Herndon who would be the manger of the project. <br /> Nr. Herndon said he was from Historical Rehabiltations of Miami, <br /> Florida who said the Monte Cristo was a gem and without a doubt it <br /> would be easier and cheaper to construct a new hotel, but he felt <br /> with the city's support the result of the rehabilitation would be a <br /> quality facility. <br /> Councilmember Overstreet said as a citizen, he had attended the <br /> Snohomish County Watershed Rating Workshor last week. He said it <br /> was an interesting process for rating the streams for any money that <br /> may come to Snohomish County. <br /> PRESIDENT'S CONSENTS <br /> President Rive announced there would be one It::added to the agenda <br /> and it would be numbered Item 3A. <br /> She then introduced Mary Anne Harvey, Teacher at Everett High <br /> 4,11 <br /> School. Mrs. Harvey said there is a very unique exchange program <br /> bet,men America and Germany that is called the German American 'f 4 <br /> 171g"Srcroiol''s"ffgercAllarldSCrol iTeGell:4'wetrede;geLffrTgE:N:Ot ' <br /> here and were in the meeting today. They will be leaving in one <br /> week. In June, 21 students from here will go over to Germany to <br /> live with their families and attend school and learn about their <br /> country. 'iE0' <br /> ,I <br /> Oriel Helmeke from Redenberg, advisor and teacher of the students <br /> Presented a letter and picture to the Mayor and thanked the council <br /> for allowing them to participate in the meeting today. <br /> .S.+1 <br />
