To forestall this cost,Chief Megan was going to discuss <br /> relocating the present stations. <br /> Chief McNeil reminded the council of the CIP meeting when they <br /> discussed fire coverage for the city. He said to forestall <br /> constructing a new fire station, staff is proposing relocating Fire <br /> Station #2, and 5. We said Fire Station N 2 at Oakes and <br /> California would be relocated to the 3600 block ofo.Rucker. Property 4 )1 11 <br /> had been purchased out of the Land Acquisition Fund. Station No. 6 <br /> located on Mukilteo Blvd. would be relocated to 60th and Glenwood. <br /> This property was received from Pope and Talbot for an exchange of <br /> R/W plus some funds. Staff is proposing a location in the 9600 <br /> block of 19th Ave. S.E.for Station A5 but a decision has not been ;I', 10 <br /> made on this at present. r <br /> He said in 1987 a contract was signed with Fire District 11 for <br /> joint service in the city and it seemed to be working out very 4 IP <br /> .11. The contract expires at the end of 1992 and at that time a I n' <br /> decision would have to be made about spew station etc. Until such <br /> time as further annexations are made, no decision can be made as to <br /> where a new station would be constructed if needed. r' <br /> Onuncilmember Stephenson asked if the 6 <br /> toe cost of the land acquisition for Station proposed 1bond5 anissued Chieincluded 1f Mcgall • <br /> said no decision was made on a location but money was included. <br /> A f' <br /> Asst. Chief Brannstrom reviewed the fire demand zones in the city t' <br /> and said they could cover out to Murphy's Corner, but it would not wr4 <br /> be the ideal coverage. <br /> = <br /> :111 s=0:!pson suggested using Real Estate Excise Tax monies <br /> 1'110 <br /> Chief Mogan said if the city continues to annex,one or maybe two, t'10 <br /> more stations will have to be constructed in the next ten years.
