He felt <br /> the P.U.D. should be a good neighbor and share in the expense of <br /> moving the poles necessary to proceed with the realignment of the <br /> street. <br /> Councilmember Gipson stated that the City needs to be fair to all <br /> the businesses in the area. The requirement for the realignment of <br /> , Paine Street to the alley is a reasonable request for the vacated <br />.'4 property. <br /> Councilmember Pope stated that if the requirement fax the <br /> realignment was removed it could adversely impact the development of <br /> the parcels of vacant land in the area. <br /> Mayor Moore stressed the.importance of maintaining the employment <br /> base is Everett. He said Sc. Kenna was here this morning and was <br /> going to advise Council that he was negotiating for a piece of <br /> property in Marysville and would be moving hie operation out of the <br /> City. He asked that Council take action to place the <br /> reconsideration of the vacation of Paine Street on the agenda. <br /> President Niva pointed out that the Council attempts to be fair and <br /> even-handed with all citizens. He stated the purpose of <br /> developing access to Interstate 5 at 112th Street SE is to improve <br /> the operation of the existing transportation system serving the <br /> Southwest Everett and South Snohomish County vicinity. The <br />' irS. .l[ provision of access to Interstate 5 at 112th Street SE would act as <br /> an extension of the Eastmont Interchange in providing improved <br /> •!-!II access to local arterials in the vicinity of the Everett Mall <br /> between between SR 526 and 112th Street SE and the communities of <br />..'
