533 <br /> December 28,1988 <br /> its examination of rail as part of an integrated transportation • <br /> system;and <br /> WHEREAS, the Mayor of Everett met with his counterparts from <br /> METRO, Community Transit and 500-TRAN on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 1988 to <br /> discuss the status of METRO'S rail planning prole..end how beet to <br /> integrate the interests of SNO-TRAN, Community Transit,and Everett <br /> Transit)and <br />• WHEREAS, the participants at the November 29 meeting, by <br /> consensus agreed to recommend the following planning and policy <br /> coordination approach to their respective boards and councils: •' <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, the Everett City Council agrees to the <br /> following: <br /> The PSCOG's Standing Committee On Transportation(SCOT)shall <br /> be the principal forum for integrating the Interests of 1• <br /> Snohomish County's public transportation agencies in a I <br /> phasing plan for high capacity transit investment in the <br /> central Puget Sound Region. <br /> METRO will develop as part of its Long Range Plan and propose <br /> for inclusion in the Regional Transportation Plan,a priority <br /> corridor for detailed evaluation of near term high capacity • <br /> investments. <br /> 1 <br /> During the process of identifying the priority corridor,the <br /> METRO Council will schedule joint meetings of the METRO <br /> Transit Committee and SCOT at no less than three milestones: <br /> 1. Identifying criteria for selecting a priority <br /> corridor. I <br /> 2. Identification of alternative corridor segments for <br /> consideration. <br /> 3. Recommendation of a preferred priority corridor. <br /> An interagency agreement will be drafted which insures en integrated <br /> work program among the public transportation agencies and the <br /> reciprocal review of technical material by agency staff. <br /> The interagency agreement will provide for amendments to the <br /> agreement prior to initiating an Alernativeanalysis should the • <br /> prioritry corridor or its logical extension include Snohomish County. <br /> COUNCIL BILL NO.8812-123 <br /> FINAL READING, <br /> ,I <br /> AN ORDINANCE closing the"Evergreen Way Signallyation.., Fund <br /> 328, as established by Ordinance No. 551-78, as amended by <br /> Ordinance No.611-79, as amended by Ordinance No.686-80, as <br /> amended by Ordinance No. 708-80, as amended by Ordinance No. <br /> 760-81,on January 3,1989. <br /> ,• <br /> Moved by Councilmember Gipson,seconded by Councilmember Overstreet, <br /> that this is declared to be the final reading of Council Bill No. <br /> • <br /> 8812-123 and the City Clerk is directed to call the roll for the <br /> final disposition of the ordinance. <br />
