533 December 28,1988 its examination of rail as part of an integrated transportation • system;and WHEREAS, the Mayor of Everett met with his counterparts from METRO, Community Transit and 500-TRAN on Tuesday, Nov. 29, 1988 to discuss the status of METRO'S rail planning prole..end how beet to integrate the interests of SNO-TRAN, Community Transit,and Everett Transit)and • WHEREAS, the participants at the November 29 meeting, by consensus agreed to recommend the following planning and policy coordination approach to their respective boards and councils: •' NOW, THEREFORE, the Everett City Council agrees to the following: The PSCOG's Standing Committee On Transportation(SCOT)shall be the principal forum for integrating the Interests of 1• Snohomish County's public transportation agencies in a I phasing plan for high capacity transit investment in the central Puget Sound Region. METRO will develop as part of its Long Range Plan and propose for inclusion in the Regional Transportation Plan,a priority corridor for detailed evaluation of near term high capacity • investments. 1 During the process of identifying the priority corridor,the METRO Council will schedule joint meetings of the METRO Transit Committee and SCOT at no less than three milestones: 1. Identifying criteria for selecting a priority corridor. I 2. Identification of alternative corridor segments for consideration. 3. Recommendation of a preferred priority corridor. An interagency agreement will be drafted which insures en integrated work program among the public transportation agencies and the reciprocal review of technical material by agency staff. The interagency agreement will provide for amendments to the agreement prior to initiating an Alernativeanalysis should the • prioritry corridor or its logical extension include Snohomish County.
