42 <br /> k I February 8,1989 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order <br /> at 830 a.m. Feb. 8, 1989 in the Council Chambers of the Everett <br /> City Hall, President Nive presiding. Upon roll call it was found <br /> that Mayor Moore and all councileembers were present. <br /> Minutes of, leeting held Feb./,1989 were approved as printed. <br /> MAYOR'S COMENTS <br /> POLICE OFFICER <br /> Deputy Chief Aaron introduced Jack Jessup, a lateral entry Police <br /> Officer from Phoenix, Arizona, who is the fourth officer inducted <br /> • for OAR1. He was then sworn in by the City Clerk. <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> February 19 through 25,1989 was proclaimed"Engineer's Week°. <br /> • <br /> President Nova asked Claire Olivers to bring the council up to date <br /> TgifetTurTleello8ay,'"whert=asia t81ck"'t'o btge bere.nguffr 10 ;Z; <br /> • shifts. He estimated they would spend $30,000 on overtime and <br /> $10,000 on materials. He thought the materials could be covered by <br /> their budget,but the overtime was not budgeted. <br /> Councilmember Pope said they would take this up in the next gudget <br /> Committee meeting. <br />• <br /> COUNCIL COAMENTS <br /> ===gfirenbrgLebee rbee Tbeeb'b'bee"Weeks'', be <br /> Councilmember Overstreet said he had attended a °Child Care in <br /> Business"seminar which was very productive. <br /> He said he had also attended the Solid Waste Planning Meeting held <br /> at the courthouse and it was announced that their plan was behind <br /> schedule and would not be completed until possibly December. <br /> Councilmember Morrow announced that an ordinance regulating the sale <br /> of tobacco in the city would have first reading next week. He said <br /> Councilmember Longus had been working with him on this ordinance. <br /> Councilmember Diamond said he and Councilmember Overstreet are going <br /> to Skagit County to review an incinerator and invited anyone else <br /> who would like to see this to join them. <br />[ <br />, . <br />
