223 <br /> June 7,1989 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council was called to order <br /> at 8:30 a.m. June 7, 1989 in the Council Chambers of the Everett <br /> city.Hell, President Nice presiding. Upon roll call it was found <br /> that Mayor Moore and all councilmembers were present. <br /> Minutes of the meeting held May 31,1989 were approved as printed. <br /> MAYOR'S COMMENTS <br /> Mayor Moore announced that Jim Langus, Chief Administrative <br /> Assistant,will be leaving the City and going to the Everett School <br /> District Administration Office. He stated that Jim will be greatly <br /> missed. <br /> APPOINTMENTS <br /> Mayor Moore asked for concurrence of the appointments of Mary Alice <br /> Salget and Kris Hausmann to the Cultural Commission to replace Donna <br /> Chase and Ken Krantz. <br /> Moved by Councilmember Morrow, seconded by Councilmember Overstreet <br /> Itonc with the appointments of Mary Alice Salget and Kris <br /> uLannurto the Cultural Commission; Salget.s term to expire <br /> December Si,1991 and Hausmann.s term to expire December 31,1989. <br /> Roll was called with all councilmembers voting yes. <br /> — . <br /> Motion carried. ' <br /> PROCLAMATION <br /> Mayor Moore proclaimed Sunday,June 11,1989 as"Race Unity Day". <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilmember Diamond presented a plaque to the City from the <br /> officers and crew of the USS Knox, who were visiting during Salty <br /> Sea Days. <br /> Councilmember Morrow commended Captain Salty (Councilmember Pope) <br /> and Marian Pope for their dedication and hard work on the Salty Sea <br /> Days celebration. <br /> Councilmember Gipson commended the Mayor on his selection of high <br /> quality employees for the City of Everett, especially Jim Lanus, <br /> and along with all the councilmembers,•wished Jim the best in his <br /> new position. <br /> - Councilmember Pope thanked the Council, Parks Department, Fire <br />- Department, Police Department and Facilities for their assistance <br /> and cooperation oh the Salty Sea Oats ceieboation. <br />
