August 2,1989 293 <br /> The regular meeting of the Everett City Council eel called to order <br /> et 6:00 p.m.August 2,1989 in the Planning Department Hearing Room, <br /> 2731 Wetmore,President Niva presiding. Upon 11 call it was foumtl <br /> that all Cou cilmembers were present. Mayor Moore was excused. <br /> Minutes of themeeting held J ly 2G,1989 were approved as printed <br /> with Councilmamber Langua abstaining Prom voting. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Ccuncilmember Pope reported on his resent trip to Watertown, New <br /> York, to review housing needs and requirements for service <br /> personnel. He felt valuable information in regards to providing <br /> dequate housing and services for service personnel was received. <br /> ATTORNEYS COMMENTS <br /> Bruce Jones,City Attorney,asked fox an xecutive session at 5:00 <br /> p.m.,the dinner break,on legal matter.a ,..� <br /> Or. Janes also reviewed the progress in the water supplier service <br /> areas report and idmap will showing <br /> t area an <br /> ception in <br /> service iscovered <br /> by ah water supplier. Hesaid that <br /> the PUO resolution has been noted and further <br /> discussions with the PUO will be necessary to see if agreement can <br /> be reached. <br /> Counrlimember Gipson asked about the review of the minority <br /> contractor policy. He and Mr. Jones will meet to determine what <br /> revisions need to be presented to assure that the policy supplies <br /> the necessary opportunities to minority contractors. <br /> ,I.1. <br /> REGIONAL NARCOTICS TASK FORCE AGREEMENT <br /> Mr. Jones stated an interlocal agreement between Snohomish County <br /> and the various participating jurisdictions for the Regional <br /> Narcotics Task Force has been ceived. Al Sheiatad, Police Chief, <br /> has requested that Council authorize the Mayor to sign the agreement. <br /> Moved by Councilmamber Langus,e seconded by Counrilmember Morrow to <br /> authorize the Mayor to cute an interlocal agreement with <br /> Snohomish County for participation In the Snohomish Regional ,1; <br /> Narcotics Task Force. -} <br /> Roll was Called with all councilmembers voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br />
