Upon roll call it was <br /> found that all councilmen were present except Councilman Gipson who . <br /> was excused. , <br /> The minutes of the August 1,1990 meeting were approved as printed. <br /> MAYOR'S COMMENTS 1, <br /> Mayor Ninch gave some background information on agenda item No.24, <br /> "Transfer of Employee Vacation Leave." He explained that the <br /> purpose of this ordinance was to allow employees to donate their <br /> vacation time to other employees in hardship situations. , <br /> The Mayor told of visits to the cities of Bremerton, Victoria and <br /> ' 1 1 <br /> Vancouver, B.C. He talked to the various mayors and planning <br /> departments as to floe they were handling their business core <br /> districts. <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilman Moser related to Council the difficulties of PSCOG's <br /> reorganization and transition plan. Attention was brought to the <br /> fact that the City is trying to get representation Co PSCOO. <br /> Councilman Overstreet has been working on a way for Snohomish County <br /> Tomorrow to integrate a report with the Planning Commission. He If <br /> suggested having a public meeting. Street between Broadway and Cedar was being resurfaced. DOVe Davis <br /> indicated it was part of the overlay program. Mayor Minch explained <br /> that the City had hired r consulting firm to prioritize the overlay i( <br /> projects,which answered Councilman Morrow,s question about whether 11 1,1 , <br /> preference was given to certain areas of the City. <br /> r 1r hi <br /> PRESIDENT'S COMMENTS <br /> President Pope told Council that the 55,000 approved last weak as a <br /> donation the Fire Fighters Fund for the purhasof food for the <br /> Food Bank has been given to the Everett Evergreen WiwaniS, as the <br /> Fire Fighters Fund is defunct. They then purchased food for the <br /> Food Bank.
