CI 63 <br /> February 13,1991 <br /> MAYOR'S COMMENTS <br /> Mayor <br /> Finch introduced Paul <br /> Pastor, Jr. grom the Pi <br /> erce CountyShriffs Department ho will be ins Evertt's Police <br /> Chief as of March 6,1991. - <br /> Paul Pastor responded that itwas <br /> a privilege to head the <br /> Everett Police Department. In researching the Department's <br /> reputation he found the Everett Police Department is regarded <br /> 0 as a top flight agency and a leader,amang police agencies. His <br /> philosophy on policing is that.good basic street policing,is an <br /> essential element in making the community safe and secure. <br /> Community support goes hand in hand with good basic street <br /> policing. • <br /> COUNCIL COMMENTS <br /> Councilman Overstreet requested to be excused at 9:00 a.m. <br /> • <br /> Councilmen Anderson called on Carlton Gipson for a short report <br /> on the Solid Waste Advisory Committee(SWAG). <br /> Carlton Gipson reported that SWAG met lest week for the purpose <br /> of.revising the Solid Waste Management Plan. The,current plan <br /> in.place is in the final stages of approval from the Department <br /> of Ecology. Recent legislation has..dirtated that revision of <br /> our Solid Waste Management Plan needs to be completed by July <br /> 1, 1991. Carlton indicated we have tentative approval but that <br /> the Department of Ecology is waiting fora <br /> letter from <br /> Snohomish County stating that the City'0 planis integrated <br />• <br /> into the County's plan. The City's involvement would result i <br /> control of the waste stream until the time the waste gets to <br /> the County.. <br /> AI:TORNEY'S COMMENTS <br /> City.Attorney Bruce Jones requested.an.executive session on a <br /> legal matter today. <br /> C <br />
