99 <br /> March 6,1991 <br /> CCOMMUNITY THEATER SITE PROPOSAL <br /> Bill Cushman, Finance Director, stated the City received a <br /> letter from Spieker Partners requesting that the City explore <br /> the passibility allowing Fire Station 2 td became an authorized <br /> site far the community theater proposal. This proposal request <br /> could add from two months up to a year to the Community Theater <br /> process. Staff recommends that Council decline this request. <br /> Vincent Ferrese, of Mtthun Partners Architects, representing <br /> Spieker Partners, reviewed the innovative idea of possibly <br /> using Fire Station No. 2 site as a passible theater site. He <br /> asked that Council open this piece of property up for <br /> consideration as a theater site. <br /> Bruce Jones, City Attorney, advised council that additional <br /> time would need to be given to other possible applicants, if <br /> this city owned site was going to be made available for the <br /> theater location. <br /> Councilman Moser expressed c with compatibility with the <br /> Human Needs services which axe clocated axountl the flee station <br /> site. <br /> Councilman Overstreet felt that all innovative options should <br /> Pe considered and that a 30 day delay would not c eate anundue <br /> hardship. <br /> Gary Messner, chairman of the Community Theater committee, <br /> mended [ the site not be included. There will always <br /> recommended <br /> alternatives tpresented. <br /> Moved by Councilman Pope,-seconded by Councilman Anderson to <br /> decline thearequest to changethe acceptable <br /> ceptable site locations for <br /> the Community Theater to includethe Fire Station No. 2 <br /> location. <br /> Roll was called Councilman Moserandwith all Overstreet who voted <br /> yes except <br /> no. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> It, <br />
